Aardvocate

Ok so when I started this I had decided that this would not be become a platform to advertise, but never mind I never officially decided what this blog would be so anyway:

Today Vark have emailed me asking if I wanted to become an Aardvocate, I naturally accepted, I like being involved in projects.
I particularly like aardvark as it achieves something rather special, one can ask a question and somebody else who knows the answer can just answer it, like real life.

In real life people regularly come to find me and ask me questions, a few ask me by IM/facebook/etc, and they do this because they know that they can trust my answer.

On the Internet however all one can do to get an answer is google/bing/spyder finder/etc a question and hope that somewhere on the searchable Internet somebody has already asked the question and got an answer.

Where Vark comes in is combining these two: on aardvark you ask a question and Vark’s servers find somebody too answer it based on what they know. This approach is far better than searching on the Internet, it is not reliant on the question having been asked before, it is better than finding the local geek as you will be able to ask a far wider – and hence – more knowledgeable audience.

Anyway, I’m not particularly sure what this was meant to be aiming. I committed the writers sin of starting with no target, I wonder where hey stand on starting with no target on a tiny 7.5 cm iPhone screen*

I think that what I was endeavouring to say was that there is a service out there that is more helpfully than simply googleing (or maybe no; aardvark has recently been aquired by Google)

* yes I know the iPhone’s screen is 9 cm, but turn landscape and remove the keyboard, mind you it would be even worse if I was portrait: 6 cm.

Same thought and notion here. You saved some watts – thanks . But yeah I too liked vark and the way two great concept integrated into a good viable one. The best part is it trying ‘Being Human’ like a calm mediator.
    Kudos
